Description

Optos Daytona Digital Retinal Scanner Imagining System

Optos Daytona Digital Retinal Scanner Imagining System
What is the Optos Daytona Digital Retinal Scanner Imagining System?
Optos Daytona Digital Retinal Scanner Imagining System is a retinal exam tool. It takes a digital image of the retina using laser technology. The Optomap can take wider images of the retina, covering up to about 82%. This coverage is not possible with other traditional retinal exam processes.

Optomap Technology puts patient comfort first. Its use can provide better visibility for the optometrist. This results in clearer and more accurate diagnoses. Optomap exams are recommended during each of your eye exams, but will ultimately be scheduled based on the recommendations of your optometrist.

Optomap Retinal Exam Side Effects
150 million sessions have occurred, yet no side effects have been reported. The Optomap technology was developed to be non-invasive, painless, and incredibly safe.

Still have questions? Your optometrist will be able to answer any concerns you have before you begin the retinal exam.

OPTOMAP EXAMS ARE MORE COMFORTABLE
Some people find eye dilation painful because of the stinging caused by drops. During an Optomap exam, nothing tangible touches your eye. You just have to look into the Optomap device and the optometrist will use the device to take the retinal image.

OPTOMAP EXAMS ARE FASTER
Capturing an image with the Optomap takes less than a second. Your optometrist can see the retinal images immediately and make a reliable diagnosis in a short amount of time.

OPTOMAP IMAGES ARE SAVED PERMANENTLY
Retinal images taken with the Optomap are stored permanently. This means that your optometrist can easily pull up relevant images for a visual comparison of your eyes from years earlier.

The ability to compare the retinal images side-by-side helps your optometrist identify changes to your eyes over time. Plus, because the images are digital, they can easily be sent to a specialist if your optometrist wants a second opinion.
